Hotel Panamera: My Favorite Tulum Hotel

Hotel Panamera is easily my favorite place to be in Tulum. From the checkered floor tiles that extend throughout the pool, to the green concrete walls, palapa rooftops, and striped beach and pool beds, it’s aesthetic makes it so cozy and comfortable. If Soho House existed in Tulum, this is what I would imagine it to be. Panamera is a boutique hotel with only 14 rooms. It is located in the Tulum Hotel Zone just past the loud/party craziness of Rosa Negra, Gitano, etc., and it’s never super crowded, making it a great place to relax or work remotely. With that said, they do have DJs sometimes, so some days you can enjoy a more upbeat vibe there if you want. They have a great menu of food and cocktails (I love their tacos), and the staff is always friendly.

I frequently visit Panamera to work from their restaurant (read more about Working Remotely in Tulum, here) and go to the beach, but I had never stayed overnight because it’s slightly out of my budget. I found a deal on a Monday recently, and I decided to go for it. It was well worth it.  My room was ready early, they upgraded me, it was quiet, and I was in love with the design and details.

If you can’t swing an overnight stay, it really is the best beach to sit at, in my opinion. I’ve spent my birthday there, and it’s always my go-to. Most beach clubs have a minimum consumption charge or a cover fee (usually at least $50-100 USD per person). Panamera has no cover and the minimum consumption is $35, very easy to hit if you have a bit of food and a few cocktails. I’d recommend getting there early because they don’t have a ton of beach beds. If you do or don’t make it for the day, at least stop by for sunset cocktails during your stay in Tulum. The outdoor area on the beach has red hanging string lights that contrast so beautifully with the sky and water at sunset.
Panamera also has a partnership with Lamat, the boutique hotel next door. They have their own pool and bar, and it’s even quieter than Panamera, if you are looking for a super secluded space.

If you’re seeking for a true boutique hotel in Tulum, look no further than Hotel Panamera (or Lamat). I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
