Working Remotely in Mexico City
While most cafes have WiFi, I struggled a few times and had to pick up my things and run to another place or home. If you’re planning to work remotely in Mexico City, I’d recommend that you make sure your hotel or Airbnb has strong WiFi so that you can take any important calls or VCs from there. Always message your Airbnb ahead of time to ask for their WiFi speed - anything of 50Mbps is good, but you can get by above 15Mbps. Here are other places that I’ve found to be reliable:
Blend Station (Condesa). This coffee shop is truly a co-working space, great WiFi and usually pretty quiet for getting work done and taking phone calls. They even have a full menu for food.
Cafe Nin (Juárez). When I originally wrote this post I noted that their WiFi was terrible. I take it back - it’s 140 MBPS! It also happens to be the cutest cafe I’ve ever been to.
Flora Cafe (Santa Fe). This is in the same complex as Barry’s Bootcamp, so I go here if I have a call right after the workout and don’t have time in between to run home. It’s always quiet both inside and outside.
Cafe Madre (Roma Norte). Restaurant/cafe/cocktail spot with great WiFi and lots of outdoor space.
Cicatriz (Juárez). Solid WiFi and a great chia pudding bowl. Love this place although they now limit the amount of time you can stay if you’re on your laptop - 1 hour max.
Boicot (Condesa, Roma Norte, Polanco). A quiet place to be connected for working. They have a whole menu of lattes as well as non-coffee drinks like matcha a golden milk.
Cafe Curado (Roma Norte). Cafe that feels like a co-working space. No one is ever there and they even have a meeting room for you to hop into if you need your own space.
Ojo de Agua (Condeas, Roma Norte, Polanco). Solid WiFi and great menu of juices, acai bowls, salads, etc.
Havre 77 (Juárez). A super cute spot for a meal or a drink.
